What should I do with ginger and timeric?

Forgot to say it’s coming into wintwr we’re I am. The smaller one is the turmeric and the one with leaves already is ginger

I need to re pot yea. Can I split the ginger from the turmeric still safely?

Wait'll the ginger dies down, dig up your ginger roots for use and put the tiny turmeric plants in a pot of their own. When you repot some of your ginger root, use a deeper pot and new soil for next years roots.

I find that mine grow best in window boxes, it gives the root room to spread out since they grow sideways and don't need the depth. You can then just use a small part of the root without diturbing the main root, and it keeps growing
