Hello all. As you can see below in the top picture, I having an issue with one of my shrubs. Can some of you help me ID this shrub (the bottom image show a close up of the foliage as compared to the size of my finger), and also what I need to do to "save" this plant? Thanks!

Although your plant has pine like foliage - am not altogether sure that it belongs to any of the pine families and think that it is possibly either the herb Rosemary - which you will know if it is from the smell or Persoonia Chamapitys - commonly known as Mountain or Prostrate Geebung - which is a drought tolerant ground cover plant that can withstand some fairly harsh treatment and bears yellow or orange flowers throughout the summer and early autumn.

On looking at your plant I actually think it is more likely to be Persoonia Chamapity - but saying that - as you actually have access to the plant - you can prove me wrong if it smells like the herb rosemary :D either way - all you need to do - is to cut out all the dead wood and it will be back to normal in no time :)

It could be some kind of juniper bush. We have a few of them in our front garden, and they appear very hardy. Our previous owners had cut back the juniper bushes to almost the stump, and they were creating new shoots throughout the winter here, so I suspect that they are very resilient. If it were me, I'd definitely cut back all the dead branches. Once you do so, you may see new shoots sprouting up in those spots that would indicate it can be saved.

Thanks all. I still don't know what it is. It's not fragrant, so not rosemary. Also, I don't believe it is Personnia Chamapity because it doesn't flower. I did cut out the dead area, so I'll see how it goes from here.
