United states hardiness zones

I found this image on wiki commons. Wiki commons is a place you can find photos that the photographers are willing to share for free. (Snagging photos from most websites is stealing if you did not take them.) I wanted to share this because on another thread there was some discussion of how "international" this forum is, which is a good thing.

I wanted to share with the other posters what the united states hardiness zones are. I would assume that many smaller countries have but one zone but the United States has many since we have tropical to quite cold and everything in-between.

It would be interesting to see the same/similar shared from other countries.

Thank you very much Jennywren. Amazing detail. Given that plants/seeds are exported around the world now, it would make a lot of sense if all countries used the same system. Thanks also for the UK map Ian. Have bookmarked it.
