Tree identification help

Does anyone know what this tree is? They get a lot larger then this. I cut one down that was getting too big and it had about a 10" trunk and still growing. I am usually good at finding stuff but I can't find this. Just curious. Friends keep asking me what it is and I tell them it grows cotton candy lol. Usually it blooms much more pink then this, I don't know why it's so white this year? Also it gets little seeds in those puffy things and has no problem popping up around the yard.

Also the wood grain is amazing.. it's like a yellow orange. I'll take a pick of the grain in a bit. it would make some amazing wood picture frames and stuff like that.
