When squirrels got into our travel traile rand made a mess out of it I have a venda for them.
The little red squirrels like rat posin Decon, feed them as much as they want. the fox squirrels are some fine eatting so I make bacon wrapped backed squirrles, Squirrels and gravey and many more recipes.

I also used big rat traps on a pair causeing havac at My inlaws in mid summer. Baited those big victors with slices of apple.

Live trapping stinks since you just transpost them to be some one elses problem. But is you had a deep pond to drop the trap into a different story.

While they are enjoyable, my Becky feeds birds and the squirrels eat the sunflower seeds and prosper. I manage the herd usually once a year in the fall. Taking 8-10 out usually gets them down to manageable numbers. The season here is almost unlimited due to the great numbers of gray squirrel. I use a sound suppressed pellet gun.

Pellet rifles are fine.

BUT when the local goverment passed a law making shooting them agenest the law it is useless.

Decon how ever will kill them and let the goverment prove how they died and who did the deed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first moved to this place it was unimproved land and there were a few squirrels, not many. But, for some reason the longer I have lived here the more squirrels there are. I started dosing them with HVLP about 10 years ago. They were beginning to become a scourge. When they ate my peaches and tomatoes I had had enough. I would estimate I have shot in the past 10 or so years close to 250 of them, maybe more. I still see them though. I don't think complete elimination is possible, but, at least they now have learned to stay away from my stuff. My problem now is coons. I have shot a bunch of them too, but it seems they will come from a good distance. I guess they talk to each other and tell each other where the eats are. My coon dog died of old age and I'm too old to get another pup. I have purchased 4 of those dog proof traps and will be setting them out shortly. I am determined to have peaches this year, coons or no coons.

It is what you get used to for accurracy. I still have not spent enough time plinking to really dial mine in at distance.
I'll probably dial in the scope, but at backyard distances the iron sights are fine. I've never been an air rifle guy, so I appreciate the recommendation. I'm plenty good with an M4, but probably not going to get away with that!

Two shots with this for the squirrel, one to realize that the scope want even close; then one with the iron sights. I be spending some time plinking with this for sure.

Maybe instead of getting rid of the squirrels you should get rid of the politicians.
Great point Chuck...your not allowed guns and loving animals although they're a rodents killing them I couldn't do anyway...so I brought a squirrel trap when they was wrecking my plants and hubby was escorting them over to the canal.

Our biologists have instructucted that moving the animals should not be done for a variety of reasons. Racoons and all.

Ratcoons are one of the few animals that fear their own dead. Whenever I would kill a coon I would hang it by my chicken coop until it became unbearable. I never lost a chicken when I had a coon “hanging around”

I used to use a German Piston Air Rifle when they were tearing up my deck and wiring. I stopped quite a few years ago and they don't seem to be as bad as they once were. I see them all the time but they're not as destructive as they once were. Not sure what changed, a few less trees maybe?
Yeah it was illegal back then and still is today, but if I followed all the rules all the time I might as well live in a cave, oh wait thats illegal too!
