If anyone knows what this is, that would be great. Its growing well in our poopy Virginia clay soil and the leaves are rubbery, squeaking when you rub them them together

Hello, I'm new here but not to gardening. I have a few of those plants, one of which is variegated. I've always heard them called Never Die Sedum also sometimes Ever Live. I've seem them grow everywhere from poor sandy soil to dense clay, full sun to mostly shade.

This is a Hylotelephium species or hybrid, also known as Hardy Stonecrop. Hylotelephium was formerly included in the Genus Sedum.
Unlike most Sedum which are evergreen, Hylotelephium are deciduous perennials. Most species and cultivated forms are native to Eurasia, but there is one species native to eastern North America: Alleghany Stonecrop (Hylotelephium telephioides).
From the photo, it is not possible to determine which Hyloptelephium is pictured in the OP, but it could be the native species.
