I have a pernettya mucronata but don't have the male plant, my question is, if I take cuttings from the female will they always be female. I cannot find a male plant in my area 😒

All you are doing when you take cuttings is cloning the original plant. The 'new' plants are exactly the same as the 'old'.
That is why every Bramley Apple tree in the world is the same one, as they are all taken from the original.
So, no you would not get a male Pernettya.

I thought that would be the case but was hoping it wouldn't be. I'll just have to put up with looking at a prickly green shrub until I fine a male.
Thanks for the reply 👍

Unfortunately, cuttings from a female Pernettya mucronata will stay female, so you'll need a male plant for pollination if you want fruit. Sorry about that, I know it's tough when the male plant is hard to find.

Yes it's a shame, but on the upside I have a lot of female plants waiting for a mister 😄

"Yes, if you take cuttings from your female Pernettya mucronata, they will always be female since cuttings are clones of the parent plant. Unfortunately, without a male plant nearby, pollination won’t happen, meaning no berries. Maybe check online plant stores or gardening groups to find a male variety? Just like in the MATATAG curriculum subjects, having the right elements together leads to better outcomes! 😅 Hope you find one soon!"
