Mystery moss like clump

Might be a bit big for a long tail tit, should be about 4 inches across by 6 long. 'Moss like' is the right sort of material though. If it is it would have an entrance near the top, probably not too obvious. Must say my first thought was it is the right size and shape for wasps though. we get occasional hornets, but they are not common here, DirtMechanic.

I like long tail tits, not only are they pretty little birds that come in small flocks, they 'tell' other sorts of tits about food sources.

I like them too Oliver. I have up to a dozen visiting the bird feeders through winter and they generally turn up when the frosts start.
