Mulching?

I'm Mulching around Trees.

I've understood not to come right up to the Tree making a Cone. So I've backed off some.

Everyone else is pulling Mulch right up to the Tree.

Who is right?

Up to the tree is OK. Piling it up into a volcano is not. Let the base of the trunk breathe, but you can cover up over any exposed roots. The mulch should be an even carpet.

I was just reading do not let mulch touch tree.

2 inches deep and out to the Drip Line. Isn't happening.

My whole yard would be Mulched.

Done decided have couple load of Wood Chips brought in. Use Straw for Mulch in the Garden. Use Leaves Mulched for the Lawn.
