Last year we had a privilege of watching a robin's nest above our mailbox from eggs to hatching. Here are some photos of them!

This mother had four eggs but only three hatched! I hope you enjoy seeing these photos!

Thank you! I have never had the privilege to observe a bird laying her eggs so up close and personal. The way you captured such touching first moments is an expectational feat. Those eggs are such a vibrant shade of blue and the moments caught of the baby birds so young takes my breath away. Amazing to see them change so quickly, too. I must say that you were quite brave to get so close. Did the mama bird come at you? How long did the birds hang around?

Both father and mother were quite upset whenever I am close, but since their nest was right above the mailbox, they got used to human traffic, LOL. The babies grew very quickly and I believe it took probably three weeks and they flew away.

The nest was quite low, just a bit above my mailbox, on top of the gutter pipe, so I stood on a chair to take the photos. This was my first time seeing the eggs, and the babies up close and personal. I watched them flew into the branches near by :(

Beautiful! Now I see why you thought the eggs you had shown us earlier were of a Robin! So beautiful! I wonder why the coloration is like that? It got to be one of the most beautiful colors I have ever seen.

Thank you @Trellum ! They look identical including the size of the eggs. I learn something new this year and won't make assumption that blue eggs are from the robin anymore :), unless I see the mother sitting on them.

Hehehe, it's never late to learn something new :) I really think that is such a beautiful thing, to know you haven't really seen after all, I know I'll be learning new things soon too  Life is such an adventure, isn't it?
