The Spring Starflower (Ipheion uniflorum, or sometimes Tristagma uniflorum) is a bulbous geophyte in the Onion Subfamily (Allioideae), of the Amaryllis Family (Amaryllidaceae). It is native to northeastern Argentina and Uruguay. There are numerous cultivars ranging in tepal color from white to a deep medium blue. Ipheion uniflorum 'Jessie' is among the darker selections.

Since they bloom now when our lawns are dormant, a lot of old yards have them. Looks really cool.
