My greenhouse had a grapevine and a fig from the previous owner. The grape produced small black grapes, not bad for England, but taking up a huge amount of room. I cut it back hard at first, but the game didn't seem worth the candle, so I took it out. Various bits of root got chucked into trenches with wood, and have now sprouted new growth. My question is are grapes usually grown on their own rootstock, or are they grafted? If it is the former I might try growing them on in a less intrusive place.
