Does anyone know whats happening to my indoor elephant ear plant. I have it near a window, good soil, water it once a week (winter in Auatralia, 15-22°c), its in a closed bottom pot so i dont want it getting root rot therefore im worried im over watering it. Anyway the leaves are going yellow and stems are drooping, there are also spider mites. Any idea whats causing this?

Your plant is suffering from excess water exposure. Very gently tip it out of the pot and put it in the same size pot with good drainage holes in the bottom.
