I want to plant low mounting evergreen fir ground cover in shaded areas of the pond. In our area nonnative fir trees and plants are very susceptible to red mites. Once the mites infest the fir is disfigured or will die.

If not fir, then I was hoping for a suggestion for another evergreen mounding plant good for the pond border.

Low maintenance is the goal.

I like it ! It's no maintenance
I have dwarf mondo around 2 of my ponds
