A friend of mine gave me this cute little houseplant and I don't know what it is? Any ideas?

I agree with Larisa, this is Pilea peperomioides in the Nettle Family (Urticaceae), native to southern China.

As the specific epithet 'peperomioides' suggests, its leaves are peltate in a way similar to some Peperomia in the Black Pepper Family (Piperaceae), such as Peperomia polybotrya and Peperomia argyreia.
