Given the geographical diversity of members here I enjoy seeing and showing local pictures. I recently went camping in the desert east of where I live. I did some hiking, photography, riding and bird watching. The bird watching was a day trip with my daughter (she is an Ornithologists of sorts) to a very unusual place named the Salton Sea, we were at the Sonny Bono Wildlife Refuge specifically. It's is a bird watchers paradise. She has all the good bird pictures, I'll try and get a couple.

I here are some general pictures.
My camp site looking up Palm Canyon.
The desert is beautiful, wide open space and sky.
A small area of the Salton Sea
Some nearby desert metal sculpture, there many of these in this meadow. The meadow is just outside the4 nearby town.

There is an oasis up Palm Canyon and occasional Big Horn Sheep can be seen there. I went up twice hoping to see them but did not see any. I enjoyed it here and plan to come back so I will look again then.
