It was decided to make a mixture of spices. This is my first attempt. A recipe was found on the internet called Garam Masala, which is of Indian origin. The spices used were nutmeg, cardamom, peppercorns, cloves, coriander, cumin, cinnamon. The spices were purchased from a supermarket and one tablespoon of each was mixed in a coffee grinder. The resulting powder was used to flavour a bowl of chickpea/lentil soup mixed with various beans. A heaping teaspoon was utilized. Spices are quite expensive but a little goes a long way.

Hi, Durgan! The seasoning looks beautiful! How did it taste? I love to make my own seasoning mixes, so when I find a good recipe I take note of it.

I seldom use spices. I thought I would experiment with some of the most common types. I used the mixture on cooked dried beans. A liter of home tomato juice was used as the liquid base. It turned out well, meaning I could eat the beans with no difficulty.

Thank you, Durgan! I think I will try this myself. It looks very good.
