Are there any self-paced online courses (free) for learning these types of things? I'm currently studying a few programming languages at codeacademy, and their format is really great. And there's no pressure or time limits.

I really want to understand plants more, specifically for food and health uses. Reading on this site about people using common things like weeds (as I see them) for making teas is exciting to me. So much money wasted buying special gourmet products when you already have some of these things in your yard.
