That is a Gecko. There are hundreds of species of them. The ones that roam around my house eat mosquitos and other tiny insects. People actually buy these lizards as pets.

And housecats love to eat them too.

I stand corrected. That is a salamander. Salamanders have 4 fingers and 5 toes. Geckos have 5 of each.
