Does anyone remember the Red Dakota seed potatoes.I have been trying to find some for years. They were rough and knobby but the taste was out of this world,

I can't recall ever seeing that seed potato. I have heard the Red Pontiac, which I grow a lot of, called Dakota Chief...but it isn't rough and knobby rather smooth and thin skinned. Also, I have seen a Dakota Rose, but it is very smooth skinned.

There are a lot of varieties out there and maybe someone will know of it.

I have never planted them either. Some of the purple spuds taste better than the white. Try 'purple jester' if you can find them.
