Do photographs for the monthly competition have to be taken in that current month please?

If I'm not mistaken, the monthly competition is for the photo of the month next month. It'd be hard to take it during December if it isn't December yet. I believe it just needs to fit the theme, if there is one.

It doesn't matter when you took the photo, as long as you took it yourself
