I don't think it's poisonous at all. It's called Physostegia and it is a very worthy and tough perennial plant that I like growing. Mine are yellow, salmon pink and pale pink. They are nicknamed obedient plants because they are useful for flower arranging as the square stems will obediently bend whichever way they look best in a vase. This belongs to the same family as mint - Lamiaceae.

Aah, I was thinking of the Disobedient plant :rolleyes:

Gardeners have noted with great chagrin that the common name is the exact opposite description of the plant's enthusiastic spreading behavior, and thus they occasionally refer to it as “disobedient plant.” Although some happily rehome wandering volunteers, others yank spring rhizomes without remorse.
