I love them. Many years ago I asked other greenhouse people if they had any to share with me.. They replied, NO, YOU NEVER WANT TO KEEP IT, THEY WILL TAKE OVER THE WHOLE GREENHOUSE. Well, I didn't listen them them and got some going in a pot...I have never seen it spread unless I intend on it growing some where else. Over the years I have lost it all except one little pot...

When my daughter was little I let her choose some plants from the garden centre, didn't look at what she'd bought till we'd got home.

She'd bought a dead plant because she liked the Liverwort that had been growing in the pot too :D

:giggle:

Not much, just like them. They like damp places, often find them around streams. But there are desert and arctic varieties too.

They reproduce using free swimming sperm too, although some are self fertile :)

:D

Did a bit of research,

They are classified as vulnerable in Great Britain.

Only common in the South West and Wales.

They like growing on the copper rich waste from copper mines.

You know I have 3 water zones in my greenhouse. We move things around in Sept every year just to get things we winter over in there. I'll bet without realizing it my many pots of Liverworts got moved to a dryer area. I do have some left that is in the wet zone.

Well, I cannot stand the ruddy things. We had tunnels full of the stuff to weed out at the nursery where I used to work. They propagated themselves overnight so it seemed.

Dunno about sexy lil things....
A bit too much watering and a dull cloudy week seemed to be all it took for these to take over - like the day of the triffids.... yuk.... :sour::giggle:
