The young man is Nick Kamen who died in May at the age of 59 of bone marrow cancer. Until today, I was unaware of that fact.
The interesting point, was that he was originally going to wear Y-Fronts under his jeans, but the agency decided they would have trouble with the censors. So they changed them for boxer shorts.
Levi sales probably increased a bit, but the commercial stimulated the demand for boxer shorts, which had suddenly became "sexy," resulting in huge sales.
