Flax?

My daughter is currently at Lake Louise in Banff, Canada and spotted this plant on Mount Fairview. Can anyone tell me what it is please. I'm guessing it's a type of Flax?

Here are some pics of Flax that I inadvertently grew earlier this year; they produced tons of seeds, so I expect I'll probably see them again in the winter.

That's interesting roadrunner. I didn't realise that Flax was the same plant as Linseed which I've seen growing in fields here for many years.
