Please can anyone advise. For the 2nd year running I have scarified my front lawn resown good grass seed and covered with netting to prevent the pigeons only to find bare patches which are covered with ants. They seem to have stolen the seeds and what bit of seed that has germinated is yellow in colour. Any advice most welcome.

Sounds like its time to send off Soil sample.
Im not so sure ants are a problem?
I have 3 types of ants in my yard and they seem to move their central location every few years
Yellow grass can be lots of things
Water/nutrient deficiency.
Fungus
Over fertilization ?

Agreed, the only damage I notice because of ants is where the woodpecker comes and digs them up.
