Your 8'footer Mutant Sunflowe looks like it has had one too many Harvey Wall Bangers! Maybe enjoyed more liquid than the recent rain you mentioned .I hope the sunflower doesn't have to be growing straight up to qualify. Mine has just one giant mutant flower and no other buds, and would be falling over under the weight of the flower if it weren't for the adjacent fence. Best I can tell it's close to 8' tall now. It enjoyed all our recent rain.
