I'd like to get a few himalaya birch trees but I'm wondering if I only buy one and take cuttings from it if they would grow so I could have more growing next year, the specific species I'm looking at is Betula utilis var. jacquemontii

It would appear from a quick search that the answer is yes. It looks like the American species of Birch is a very popular tree to grow from cuttings so I would imagine that all varieties would be good candidates for cutting. In fact I think I will try a couple this week. :)
