Hello Gardeners! I am so happy that the new season has officially begun! Time to start planting! :)

Unfortunately, very early on I discovered that my Blackberry vine has some orange spots on the underside of the leaves.
I am hoping someone can help me to determine whether this is Orange rust or not.

If so, with it being a systemic issue, will cuttings from this vine carry the same disease ?

Any tips on eradicating from the area -- after removing all plants? It would kind of suck if I could never grow blackberries here again because it has spores and diseases in the soil :'(

Since the vine had very few leaves to start with, I have removed all infected leaves. There are only new shoots growing which seem to be unaffected (yet). Hopefully that doesn't kill the vine xD

Thanks for the help!

Those yellow things are eggs. What kind is a mystery until they hatch.

That is a MAJOR relief! :) Thank you so much!!!!

Now I guess my next worry should be whether or not those eggs will be pests that end up being hard to get rid of. I'm burning as many as I can !

Once again thx!!!

Oh yeah, I can only imagine . The question is how bad will they be.
Is there something I can buy to kill the eggs without killing the tree ? o_O

Also, this is a bit off-topic but I'd rather not make a whole new thread about Blackberries. When propagating a blackberry cutting, does it matter from where on the plant I get the cutting? I am only worried because doesn't the cane die the second year (after fruiting). I have some one year old canes but not sure what to do. Thanks!

Neem Oil will work. It will smother the eggs.

Blackberry cuttings only work when the cuttings are from NEW growth.
