My Son was saying it is wrong for me being so strict on Organic.

I'm thinking if I deviate one bit it will mess up everything.

Am I wrong thinking this?

Organic is 'natural' so -what's natural?
The meaning of organic has changed to 'microbial'. If it will kill the soil microbes don't use it.
The meaning of fertility has changed to 'variety'. You can knock out the pests by planting herbs and flowers everywhere. Variety on top of the soil means lots of life in the soil and roots below.

My Son thinks it is good with Cannabis because you smoke it.

???? You eat vegetables and smell flowers.

I'm trying so hard and if I run into a problem it is so easy to use something that works instantly.

I don't think so. Why would it? Are we all sharing the same meaning for "organic" meaning non-synthetic?

You could say that organic - is alive.
Unfortunately, the word 'organic' has been corrupted and used by everybody including politicians and advertising agents.
Synthetics are clothes made of manufactured materials.
In art organic often means curving with no straight lines.
In chemistry it means carbon-based products.
Organized is a derivative of organic and can be used to describe any form or structure.
Fortunately, all well-meaning people have a fair idea of what is meant by the word 'organic'.

I am aware of all those and I have a degree on biochemistry. I am highly skeptical of the whole subject when it comes down to "what is good".

You asked are we agreed on the meaning of 'organic' now you ask is it 'good'.
It has changed. Now organic advocates are experimenting with 'polyculture'. Planting mini-mono-crops with herbs, flowers and other crops and selected weeds interspersed is yielding amazing results in more gardens than my own.
  • less insect damage and more plant resilience to attack.
  • high fertility and nutrient levels without fertilizer as such
  • successful use of microbial inoculants

So read 'Regen Ag.", in place of organic. Then replace Regen. Ag. with the exploration of microbial and bio-diverse variety of plants and lifeforms in the soil. It's very good as far as I'm concerned.

Methods and practices are what is important...not the label that folks many times with ulterior motives place on them.

The plants don't care about the labels, neither do I, they care only about the methods and practices.

I’m a firm believer in not drawing a line like that. You’re not a bad person if you wanna use some miracle grow or pesticide spray. Just know what you’re using and research the chemical a little. But… I’m curious, what issues are you facing that makes you want to use some instant cure? I haven’t really come across an issue that requires something so powerful (and I’ve had swarms of issues with a new garden lol). There are some pretty gnarly products out there that are certified “organic” that will absolutely work instantly. Is there something in particular going on currently, or just asking in general?

P.S. I can definitely attest to the planting loads of different (native) flowers all over your garden. It does take a season or two for the array of bugs to gather, but it’s pretty amazing how well it balances out once established. It’s also a super easy (and beautiful) fix/investment for your yard. Just Google “(your state) native plants”, and take that list to Home Depot 👌

I'm very interested in keeping Microbs happy.

Some say put plastic on ground to kill weeds but got to thinking it will get so hot it will kill Microbs.

Guilty I use Peroxide told it was safe. Found it kills Microbs.

After understanding I feel I'm to do everything to make them happy.

I'm raising Cannabis and people are saying you smoke it. Well you eat vegetables.
