Just realized if you click on the bronze plaque you can just about read about the US First army and D Day

Thanks @zigs but i have a weird browser and sometimes a click will enlarge the image and sometimes it doesn't. A bit moody my browser, but i like it. Now it is deciding not to enlarge now it appears i have a naughty moderator as well as a moody browser. Thanks for the image though, reads just fine.

Lovely photos (as always) but I'm confused by the third photo of some structure in the harbor (photo just above the lighthouse picture). Please tell me what it is--I've never seen anything like it!

Might have been a loading dock for D Day, it's off limits now as it's unsafe
