I use coffee grounds and used tea leaves around my roses, egg shells I toss into my compost bin they break down when ever I turn the bin.

I never put eggshells in my compost as they do not breakdown well. Putting coffe grounds in the compost is a good thing to add.

Egg shells take a little bit longer, but they will break down. It helps to break the up well. Compost needs a full year to break down properly. You have to be patient.

I actively use eggshells and coffee grounds for my compost. Egg shells take a little longer so I like to throw them in the food processors after they have been rinsed and dried, along with the dried coffee grounds and I throw in tea leaves as well. This makes it faster and much easier to sprinkle over my garden.
