Newbie here. Today I went to water my Zamioculcas zamiifolia which has always looked very healthy, and when I touched one of the stems, it just came away from the soil completely, with no roots at all attached. Then I checked all the other stems and another one did the same!

Does anyone have any idea why this has happened? I don't think I overwater it but I have a feeling it is root rot.

Thanks!

ZZ plants need to be left to completely dry out between watering. They are a plant that thrives on neglect. Sometimes they get overwatered in the big box stores, or they might be in a pot without good drainage. You might be able to root some of the stems that came off. Here is a link for more info on your plant. Everything You Need to know about ZZ PLANTS
