Hi All,
I’m hoping for some help identifying what’s going on with my young pear tree.
This year it produced only a few small, underdeveloped fruits. Most of the leaves turned yellow with irregular black or dark brown blotches that are not velvety, and not orange like rust. The fruits look clean just small and some misshapen.
It’s now shed nearly all its leaves, while the apple and cherry trees nearby are only just starting to change colour.
The tree is planted in open lawn and gets good sun. I haven’t sprayed it with anything yet.
From what I’ve read it could be pear scab, sooty mold from psylla or aphids, or maybe a nutrient issue but I’m not sure. I’d really appreciate any advice on this and how to prevent next year.
Photos attached show the leaves and fruit.
Thanks in advance!
