Would this be worthwhile?

My garden plots are in my backyard and I've noticed that the grass downhill of the gardens grows extremely well. Obviously it's picking up nutrients that have washed out of the garden soil.

But that water also runs off the grass and into a swail, which feeds a culvert under the driveway and dumps into a sort of pond area. I'm thinking that might be rather rich soil after all these years.

A soil test is in order but I wonder if it would be worth the effort to bring that soil up to the garden again.

Thoughts?

If it isn't too much work, then yes it would be a good thing.

Ah, actually my knee is a bigger problem. Dislocated it Sunday pulling weeds.
Sorry to hear that, treat it really carefully and well, even when you think it is about recovered. If you don't these things can give you gyp for years, believe me.

Oh, I've been dealing with it for 25 years now. Usually only pop it once or twice a year. Probably should have surgery but at my age, I'll be due for replacement soon anyway.

Moving soil or water is a very difficult task when done by hand.
