Will red twig dogwood grow in a swamp area

There's a swampy area behind my house that isn't used for anything, I have red twig dogwood cuttings ready to be potted on could I put them in there or would it be too boggy for them

Hard to tell if its too much water...they do thrive in low spots or along streams or ponds. What have you got to loose in trying it?

Yeah I thought they preferred the boggy type soils like willow does just wanted to check, I'l give it a a go

I would build a large mound of soil a couple of foot above the flood plain to keep the roots out of the water. If the tree sits in water it won't make it period.

If it were mine, I certainly would consider adding bald cypress to that area. I have several and they are beautiful, majestic trees. They love wet conditions. It would also be compatible with the dogwood.
