Spreaders, those useful machines, have no standards. The prills in the bags has no stated size and the the machines have a dial that is meaningless in terms of the different size particles (prills) it drops. What would you change? It looks like the particle size to hole opening ration needs to be observed by us. In the pic notice the size not show of the hole roughly 25mm by 26mm x4.

And that was my pusher so here is my puller spreader. 3.5" x 1.25 inch roughly in one large hole.

and the puller rotates at a 5 basket to 1 wheel rotation. the pusher rotates at a 5 to one wheel rotation as well.

So one machine 15 and the other 10 on the settings.. What would you doctors prescribe?

Have you tried the cordless spreader?

It is neither "horrible" nor "suck" in my experience. Handles tasks large or small. Operates on the DeWalt battery pack which is really a plus for me. I use it for cover crop seeding and even pasture seeding riding along on my UTV.

I have the hand crank version actually. Sensitive is the why. Very focused dispersal when I need to get small. Some beds want this, some that, cats want mice.

.... Very focused dispersal when I need to get small. .
I've had the 500-pound capacity PTO spreaders. This spring I spread Argentine Bahai grass seed on the better part of 35 acres using that "small" spreader I posted above. I just set it up on my UTV and let the seed fly.

It took a little longer and battery changes, but I got precise spreading and at the price of Bahia seed these days it was well worth it.

I doubt I will ever use the big spreaders again and certainly not the small hand crank ones.

This is their ad " 8 settings for the unbeatable accurate space for kinds of seed release. Furthermore, there we set 6 speed adjustments for spreading and one black paddle dial to protect non-lawn areas"

The handheld operation is the ultimate in flexibility.
