I'm guessing that the Forums limit privileges such as pm's until a certain threshold of number of posts is reached.

After a while you get a thing under your name saying 'Full access member', I reckon that will be it.

It's probably around 20 posts.. give or take. If you want to speed things up just reply quick random stuff on threads like "that sounds good!" Or "very nice!" Or "cool!" Etc. Everytime you click "post" on a thread the system counts it, you can see on your profile how many posts you have made so far.. right now you are at 11.
