Two questions:
1. I noticed yellowish-white fuzzy stuff on the surface of my soil. I spooned it out and it goes a few inches deep. below the surface, it looks more like clumps of eggs, absolutely gross. Otherwise, My ficus benjamina looks healthy. What could it be? (I’m trying to figure out how to attach a pic)
2. I bought a yucca cane last week and immediately noticed that it has tiny holes in someone the leaves and tiny yellow spots in others. anyone know what this might be? (again, trying to attach photos)

I was able to see your pics on the other post. I'll paste in the same reply here.

That is a Fungus or possibly a Slime Mold (Mycetozoa). It is not the eggs of any sort of animal.

It might be the mycelial stage of Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, a basidomycete fungus that forms distinctive yellow mushrooms in tropical, greenhouse, and houseplant environments. However, that identification is only tentative.

I don't think this fungus is directly pathogenic, though the moist soil conditions it prefers may be detrimental to some plants.

The leaf damage on the Yucca is unrelated to the fungus. Whatever caused the leaf damage might no longer be present. Have you seen fresh damage since bringing it home?
