When is the best time to plant herbs and veggies?

I want to plant my own basil, rosemary, oregano, thyme, and okra and just wanted to know when is the best time to do this?

I plant that stuff in the spring. Would need to know your zone in order to give you a more definite answer.

Do you want to grow them from seed or are you going to buy the plant.

If you are going to start them by buying the plant then I would wait until around Mothers day to put them in the yard, this is usually when your last chance of frost is, but you will need to make sure on this. They will be annuals for you meaning you will have to bring them inside during winter or just let them die and start over.

If you are going to start them from seed you would want to start them inside and then transplant them outside.

I have my herbs all through the year.. I live in a warmer climate.. but I guess you could always start your herbs in containers and then plant them out if you need to.. that way you could start them now.
