Blue Violet. Look at all those seedlings around it! It should fill up the garden nicely in a few years.

Cows b.jpg

We love to watch the cattle in the field across our pasture. The calves "bounce" rather than walk or run for the first few days--they don't know what to do with all those legs!
The wildflowers are scattered around, and there is always the sound of birdsong. May is one of our prettier months, and we take a few minutes from mowing, hoeing, and picking to enjoy it.

My day lillies that I got off the half dead $1 rack at Lowes, last year, are finally blooming. Seeing some goodies growing in the garden too! Jalapeños, squash and Juliet tomatoes are all making babies! And last pic is of some plants I ordered offline last year and wasn't sure if they'd make the winter but they are back and growing great!

@zigs Chelidonium is an important remedy used in homeopathy, esp. good in liver ailments.

My Wild Ginger is looking good! Many people are starting to use it as a replacement for Hostas, and I can certainly see why. Much nicer foliage, in my opinion. Over time, It fills in nicely. It's flowers are hardly noticeable, but with this plant, it's all about the foliage.

Crossandra infundibuliformis (Firecracker Plant or Firecracker Flower or Casandra). The common name doesn't come from the colors of the flowers but rather from the loudly exploding seeds. It is a popular plant with the pollinators esp. bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. It is a popular house plant in northern climates or so i am told. Here it is said to bloom year around, but i think the rains are going to knock those blossoms off. This is the first year i have tried this plant in my garden. It is also a host plant for a variety of butterflies.:)
