As we are all gearing up for the 2026 Garden Season, I thought it might be a fun idea to have a thread where we can share what we're doing in our greenhouses.
Today I tested the heating system and verified the roof vents are still in working order.
What did you do?

I don't have a greenhouse but i use the conservatory to start early seeds.
I've got my propagators down at the beginning of this month but I've only sown verbena bonariences and Erigeron which have come up, the verbena bonariences I've only had a few at the moment, the Erigeron is a lot better.

Verbena bonariensis seeds itself all over our garden, I leave the seeds for the birds, but they obviously don't get them all.

In the greenhouse I have broad beans, sweet peas, and peas, either germinating or feeding the mice. I also have a bunch of sweet peas I sowed in autumn, which are doing well. A large part is taken up with all the tender plants in pots overwintering

In Summer there is nearly always a bumble bee laden with pollen and trying to find her way out.
The verbena are not in the greenhouse, just out in the garden.

The title of this thread always makes me want to say "You would be amazed at what goes on", but , unfortunately , you probably wouldn't.

Do you just open the greenhouse to the pollinators?

Curious because I always wondered if plants would get pollinated in greenhouse.

I’m going to help a friend build a greenhouse this spring. He’s going to heat it with wood.
Glad you like the thread. I hope it gets frequented on a regular basis.
