I originally came here to see if I could save my schefelara (I can never remember how to spell that...Scheffelarra? No Scheffelera?). It is infested with very tiny black bugs. I have yet to get a photo of them. Now I have a photo of another pest I’m dealing with. It’s eating my Amaryllis, which is outside (Shefelara is inside). Here is the photo. These guys are even creepier than the bugs on my indoor plants.View attachment 71463

That looks like caterpillar poop to me :)
Wow! Really? I’ve looked through the leaves carefully and haven’t seen any caterpillars. Whatever this is, there is a webbing that is woven around spots where these things have planted themselves (you can see a tiny bit of the webbing on the leaf). They looked like poop to me too, but I couldn’t find anything that would be producing it. Come to think of it though, the leaves look like they have been eaten through, right down the middle. If they are caterpillars, I will be very ambivalent about killing them. I’ve had this plant for many years, and have never had a problem with it. In fact, the indoor plants that are infested I have had for many years without any problem. And I really need my plants right now.
