That is called cracking. It is caused by irregular watering and is very common especially when the tomatoes are being grown in a dry environment and not being kept moist at all times. When there is a sudden influx of water either from a rain or a water hose the plant is absorbing more water than the tomato fruit is able to grow and its skin splits or cracks.Don't know what is causing this, but they are all like this.
