I have had this potted bay tree for 15 years. I originally planted it in the same pot as a rosemary plant, and have never dared to try to disentangle them.
When we moved, 3 years ago, I repotted the bay into a much larger pot. This pot has a diameter of around 500 mm. The plants don't yet look to me like they have outgrown the pot, but something is wrong with the bay tree.
The leaves are smaller than they used to be and the foliage much less dense. The leaves are lighter coloured, and there are brown patches that I don't know the cause of.
I can't see any obvious systemic critters attacking it.
The plants get full sun most of the afternoon and are in a windy place (balcony 8 floor up) in a coastal environment, so the wind is a bit salty. Nothing that should be a massive problem for a bay, according to what I read.
Any ideas?
