What is this growing in the lawn?

Just noticed quite a bit of the below popping up on what used to be weedless lawn. Anyone know what it is?

Excuse my lack of knowledge. Still new to this!

Don`t know where in the UK you are, but here in Kent it`s been a bit hot and dry. Your grass is looking very healthy. Keeping the blades sufficiently high on the mower is really good during dry spells.

It looks exactly what I have growing in my area in the winter, then dies back in the summer heat of Florida, only to come back next winter...

I believe it's Winter Rye Grass.
