What has happened to my beautiful Oakleaf hydrangea?

Do I need to cut this down to the ground? In the six years we’ve owned this property, it has never look like this. It has always been robust and healthy!

It looks like a water managment issue. Check the soil and see if its too dry or too wet. If the soil is soggy or wet to the touch, overwatering may be causing wilting. With excess spring rains sometimes plants can get too much. This can lead to root rot and suffocate the roots.

Make sure you don't have an insect infestation. Use a strong magnfyer and look on top and bottom of the leaves. If the plants don't recover then you may need to remove them.
