What did you do in your garden today?

Nothing happening in our garden but 3 ripe melons. Stems were dried dead so I picked them. Hot sun burns top side of melons. 17 lb. 15 lb. 14 lb.

wish I had a small one of those when I move mulch it's a several days job even with my mower tractor and cart

its rented for a week.

Saying 100 degrees for next week and no rain but everything is dead like grass and trees.

So I water and water. Tomorrow I’ll water.

Like @big rockpile , watering has been in the daily routine here since before August rolled around.

Today was different, however as a Tropical storm tract is bearing down on us.

Tomorrow will be very interesting here in the gardens as well as the homestead. Unlike @big rockpile , I do not expect to be watering tomorrow.

Storm hit last night. Daylight brings lots of twigs and limbs down everywhere. suppose to rain again later today. Lawn soggy from all the rain. Hope to get out for at least an hour for a walk about pick ups stuff. won't be enough, too much. suppose to rain again later. Good day to bake some bread.

Another 11 lb. melon & every one is tired of melons, stim dried up and broke off on its own. Grand mother made cinnamon rolls & no one wanted watermelon. That was a very nice full moon we had a few days ago, I wish I still had my telescope.

Rain/storm. more downed . soggy nothing outside. leaving tomorrow for trip. it is what it is.

As predicted no watering today and for many days to come. The Tropical Storm dumped a foot of rain on the garden and winds flattened everything.

Today I assisted raising corn plants into upright positions. Sometimes they can do this on their own but in this case, they needed assistance.

Squash plants needed sorting out, tomato plants re-staking, cucumber plants back on trellis and harvested, bean seeds needed recovering, etc. Sunshade that had been blown down everywhere was removed and hung out to dry. General clean-up and getting ready to move full scale into the fall garden season.

Today I planted 45 seed potatoes in 1 row. Eyes are pointed up to help potato eyes get started growing and sprayed potatoes with water. Yesterday was 1st rain we have had in several weeks. 20% chance of rain today. Soon as eyes have small plants I will cover them up with soil.

Soil is perfect for planting out now. Today, planted Italian Giant Parsley, Rhubarb Swiss Chard, Detroit Red Beets, and Curly Kale. More tomorrow. Soon will start planting out bedding brassicas... cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower.

Also, planted several @Martin Mikulcik donated varieties with great expectations...haven't been disappointed by any.

Corn recovering fine and should be in line for a record for me fifth crop of fresh garden corn. Green beans popping up out of the rain-soaked soil like magic. I love the fall garden.
