"They" say the home gardener shouldn't bother with growing corn in the home garden...takes up too much space "they" say for not enough reward.

The above referenced 3 dozen plus ears came from a garden area of less than 20 sq. ft. That corn will provide many meals of amazing quality eating tasting far superior to anything that can be purchased in the stores by "they".

What can/do you grow that can provide that much incredible food in less than 20 sq. ft. ?

My take is to ignore "they" and try it for yourself.

probably true if you live in Texas, it's usually a disapointing crop if you live in England, sigh.

Nothing today it's raining but my back is playing up and hubby's, he did his last week trying to plant a big rhododendron, mine is a flare up of a dodgy disk but it will get better.

So I've ordered my spring bulbs from jparkers, they should come at the end of August. Spent £292.0 that's after a discount code that hubby found of £32.44p

these are called juliets but yes think they roma family very good taste and good producer
Thanks...I'm trying out a new "roma" type that @Martin Mikulcik , whom we haven't seen much lately here, gave me some seeds for late this spring. I don't know the name even if it has one, but Martin offers it may be productive in hot weather when others may not.

Will soon be finding out.
