Continuing to harvest red potatoes...

potato harvest 5 15.JPG

After harvesting, let them sun dry for a couple of hours then separate according to bakers, canners, and dishes/soups

Watered greenhouses, made up a couple of containers and put tomatoes in them, one tiny temptations, one tigerella.

And finally got around to cleaning up my pond. It was covered in bogbean that I had pulled up earlier in spring and let free-float across the surface. Then the bogbean got covered in algae, so I hadn't seen down into my pond in weeks. I also pulled out my waterlilies and repotted them. That was a huge chore because it was one big mat of roots on the bottom. I always let it become overwhelming before I get around to it.

It's a bit murky in this photo from everything being stirred up but has since cleared up.

When the good weather started I put on my shorts, and got bitten all over my legs by something. Yesterday I was digging over a bed in the greenhouse, put compost and manure into it today ready for peppers. Anyhow, something got me, a small red mark between my lip and nose, and my top lip has swelled so I look like one of those women who has overdone the lip injections:)
